Introduction:

Simple on-farm actions such as routinely checking animals, cleaning buildings, washing hands or carefully disposing of dead birds can be considered good biosecurity practices. Biosecurity can also involve more stricter actions and policies, such as controlling visitor access and the movement of people and birds on the premises, or controlling the use of equipment in different sheds/farms. The main purpose of biosecurity measures in poultry production systems is to reduce the introduction of infectious diseases on the farm.
