Laboratory of Virology
The ADVANCE One Health team of Prof. Van Cleemput focuses on animal drug, virus and host cell engineering to perform fundamental virus research, develop vaccines, and generate antiviral therapies. By combining gene editing with specific and efficient cell delivery techniques, our team aims to expand the veterinary molecular toolbox with relevant virus and host cell models and bring genetic therapy to the veterinary industry. This will lead to better understanding of animal diseases, improved veterinary care, and control of infectious disease outbreaks, ultimately advancing One Health.
